The Diuk-Wasser lab examines the key ecological drivers for human risk of exposure to vector-borne pathogens.

Diuk-Wasser uses a variety of tools to model and map spatiotemporal patterns of human risk of exposure to vector-borne and zoonotic pathogens (geographic information systems, remote sensing and spatial analysis) and to examine the drivers of these patterns (field and lab experiments, mathematical models).

The lab investigates a variety of disease systems to address these basic and applied questions, including Lyme disease, West Nile virus fever, leptospirosis and dengue fever.
