Teymur Kazakov graduated with M.S. from Lomonosov Moscow State University, major in biochemistry and molecular biology. During his PhD study in Rutgers University he worked on mechanism of action of natural Trojan horse-like antibiotic Microcin C. Teymur proceeded as a postdoc in the Department of Genetics at Yale University studying Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and its trafficking in the human cell. What compartments does HPV visit while it travels to the nucleus? What kind of cells factors and resources does it hijack to take over the cell? These are the questions Dr. Kazakov is trying to answer.
