Opportunities

The Artificial Heart Lab at Yale University is interested in those who would like to spend time in the lab as an intern from Yale School of Medicine and Yale Engineering School.

The lab is involved in the design, conceptualization, prototyping and implementation of novel mechanical circulatory support devices for heart failure. Current projects include the development of wireless resonant electrical transfer technologies to power left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), "bridge-to-recovery" LVADs, artificial lung devices, , mechanical CPR devices, and minimally invasive cardiac surgery platforms. Other areas of investigational interest include computational fluid dynamics and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

The ideal candidate would be a medical student, surgical resident, or engineering student with a strong interest in development and design of LVADs or medical devices. Long-term internships are encouraged.
