Welcome to the Bonde Artificial Heart lab!

Heart Transplantation Laboratory

We believe a creative and imaginative environment is essential to innovation. This has been the cornerstone of our approach to solving complex problems in cardiac surgery.

Our areas of interest include device therapy for heart failure, finding novel solutions for power delivery to an implanted left ventricular assist device (LVAD), unusual actuation methodologies to optimize cardiac output, elucidating the complex interaction between circulatory support devices and their impact on cardiovascular physiology, and understanding computational fluid dynamics related to artificial heart support. Other areas of interest include patient centric outcomes research.
