New Haven Science Fair 2017

The Science Fair’s goal is to work with children and their teachers at all grade levels, helping them carry out investigative, hands-on projects that will promote skills in critical thinking and communication. Dr Veronica Musante, Associate Research Scientist in Molecular Psychiatry and a member of the Yale/NIDA Neuroproteomics Center, was one of the judges at the Fair. “Serving as a judge was a pleasure and an honor", said Dr Musante, "the students were very enthusiastic and dedicated to their projects. I was impressed by the quality of their work, with many of them focused on key topics such as environmentalism, healthy nutrition and sustainability, and showing real interest and awareness for the world they live in.” The New Haven Science Fair Program is committed to making learning both meaningful and enjoyable and to spark interest in pursuing a STEM career (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics). This program contributes by improving the quality of education, particularly science and math education, in New Haven Public Schools.
