Data Return

Data Return Announcement 2024

We will need to move away from using Box.com for the 2024 year per Yale's policy. Please make sure you back up your data BEFORE this happens, as we will be deleting the data from the cloud. Please feel free to email Dnaseq@Yale.edu if you have questions or concerns.

Our plan for the future is to transition to using the Thermo Fisher Cloud Connect for data return. It will be easier for that transition to happen if you create your account ahead of time. You can do so at the following link: https://www.thermofisher.com/account-center/signin-identifier.html. Please let us know if you need any help or have questions. Thank you for your compliance!!

How do I retrieve my data?

Box.com is currently our only method for data return. We will create a folder with your researcher code and send you the link. As the owner, you can update users as you see fit.

***Please do not upload anything to this folder. It should be used for Keck DNA Sequencing data only***

When will I get my electronic data?

Electronic data is uploaded throughout the day, and even on the weekend. Standard turnaround time is 1 business day. Yale users will receive priority over non-Yale users. You can check the status of your order on the sample submission page by selecting CHECK EXISTING ORDERS. If you have not received your results in 2 business days, feel free to reach out to us.

Who should I call to ask questions about data return?

Sending an email to dnaseq@yale.edu will yield the fastest response. You may also call the lab at 203-737-2566.

What is your preferred method of data return?

Box.com is our only method for data return. We will create a folder with your researcher code and send you the link. As the owner, you can update users as you see fit.

***Please do not upload anything to this folder. It should be used for Keck DNA Sequencing data only***

If I lose a sequence can I have the data re-sent?

We try to accommodate peoples' requests, although you are responsible for your data once it leaves our lab. Retrieving older data can be time consuming. Please back-up your sequence data right away to avoid this problem. **We do clear out past data periodically; especially data that is older than 1 year.**

If you do need older data, please email the lab with the researcher code, template/primer combination, and the date the sample order was placed.
