Steve Hamm joined Yale Medicine in August, 2016, to lead the writing and editing team. He was previously chief storyteller at IBM, where he wrote everything from Tweets to books--the most recent book being Smart Machines: IBM's Watson and the Era of Cognitive Computing. Earlier, he was a journalist for 30 years, including 12 years as a senior writer at Business Week and six years at the New Haven Register. He's a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in English and creative writing. He loves hiking, biking. fly fishing, and Sicily.
