Biographical Info

My undergraduate studies were at the University of Wisconsin and Ludwig-Maximilian Universität in Munich prior to medical school at the Freie Universität in Berlin. My postgraduate training in pediatrics was at New York University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine; in neurodeveolopmental disabilities at the New York Medical College; and in neurology at the University of Washington. For the last 20 years, while working at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Group Health in Seattle, and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, I have focused on diagnostic approaches to complex neuro-developmental disorders and medical care for families whose children have neurodevelopmental disabilities. My clinical research interests are in the neurogenetics, neuro-developmental disorders, and pediatric epilepsy. I am active in the Ethics Committee of the Child Neurology Society and the Ethics, Law, and Humanities Committee of the American Academy of Neurology.
