Biographical Info

Dr. Chaplin is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University. She received a Ph.D. in child-clinical psychology from Penn State University. Prior to coming to Yale, she completed post-doctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests are in the role of gender and emotion regulation in the development of psychopathology, substance abuse, and HIV risk behaviors in adolescents. She is also interested in the role of parent-child interactions in the development and prevention of substance use and health behaviors in children and adolescents. Her research is interdisciplinary and uses self-report, observational, and biological measures of emotion.
