Biographical Info

Mary Jane Bentley, Ph.D., M.P.H. is an Associate Research Scientist at the Yale Child Study Center. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical and Population Health Biostatistics in 2010 from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and a master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Public Health in 2005. Dr. Bentley completed a statistical genetics postdoctoral fellowship in childhood neuropsychiatric disorders at Yale in 2012, mentored by Dr. Elena Grigorenko and Dr. James Leckman. She has been research faculty at the Child Study Center since April of 2012 and continues her research to identify the epidemiological and genetic factors related to adolescent criminality and delinquency utilizing a latent-variable modeling approach. She is also the Evaluation Coordinator for the Intensive In-home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service (IICAPS), a family-focused intervention designed to prevent the psychiatric hospitalization of children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbance (SED). Dr. Bentley oversees the evaluation of data from 20 IICAPS sites across Connecticut and one site in New York.
