Biographical Info

Dr. Murphy is a clinical researcher specializing in the use of screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) methodology and motivational counseling interventions to help improve the identification of emergency department patients in need of alcohol services and promote their engagement in needed treatments. Her current research program focuses on the use of computerized SBIRT for adult emergency department patients for a wide array of health behaviors including alcohol, smoking, and risky driving behaviors.
