Research Summary

Molecular Biology/Biochemistry: High level of expertise with recombinant DNA techniques and methods of nucleic acids analysis including DNA/RNA isolation from different sources, restriction mapping and mutation analysis (SSCP, DHPLC, DGGE, etc.), Hybridization (Southern), plasmid construction and molecular cloning, DNA sequencing, PCR, real-time PCR and different applications, in vitro transcription and translation, analysis of promoter activity, electrophoretic mobility shift assay.

Cell biology: Extensive experience with protein purification and gel electrophoresis, western blot analysis, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry.

Cell culture: High level of competency in maintenance of established cell lines and primary cells, transient and stable gene expression (transfection using electroporation and various carriers), cellular cloning, transformation and clonogenic assays.

Genomics/Proteomics/Bioinformatics: High level of expertise with SAGE library construction and data analysis (BLAST, UniGene, clustering, Ingenuity, tc). cDNA array application and data analysis (SAM, PAM, Genomatix, etc.). I have also been trained for course on the state of the art in data mining "Statistical learning and data mining" organized by Stanford University in September, 2003, Boston, MA. Extensive experience with statistical computer program SPSS and various informatic tools suitable in related to molecular biology areas such as molecular genetics, molecular biology of human inherited diseases, biotechnology and bioinformatics.
