Dr. Post's area of research expertise is at the nexus of violence/injury prevention and health information
technology. To this end, she has been the principal investigator on several federal, state, and foundation grants. Currently, she has an R01 testing the use of health information technology in the Emergency Department (ED) to reduce injuries, adverse health outcomes, unnecessary admissions and ED visits. Dr. Post is also an investigator on the multi-site Consortium for Health Informatics supported by the Veteran's Administration. Past projects include a sexual assault surveillance system as well as a quasi experimental longitudinal study aimed to prevent and interrupt intimate partner violence both funded by
the Centers for Disease Control. The Department of Health and Human Services - Center for Medicare funded her technology based informatics project that involved networking disparate data archives, criminal records registries to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation in health care settings.
