Assistant Professor of Surgery (Trauma)

Dr. Piper has certifications from the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and in Surgical Critical Care. Her clinical interests include trauma, surgical critical care, and surgical emergencies.

Dr. Piper earned her undergraduate degree from Grove City College and her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in general surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Piper was fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care, Trauma, and Acute Care Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Piper’s research interests include abdominal compartment syndrome and the management of open abdomens in the intensive care unit.
