Biographical Info

Dr. Tobin earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and then went on to complete his residency training in Internal Medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital. After completing an additional year as Chief Medical Resident with the Yale-affiliated Hospital of Saint Raphael, Dr. Tobin joined the Yale faculty in the Section of General Internal Medicine. As a member of the core teaching faculty and later as the interim medical director for the Yale Primary Care Center, Dr. Tobin had the opportunity to become more directly involved with educational and administrative leadership for the residency program. He was subsequently recruited to be the Medical Director for the Chase Outpatient Center at Waterbury Hospital, the site of the continuity medical practices for the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program, and is charged with directing the ambulatory activities of all the residents and faculty who practice there. In addition to medical education, administrative medicine, and direct clinical care, Dr. Tobin has a special interest in quality improvement and prescription drug abuse and has spearheaded projects on both topics.
