Biographical Info

Allison Ponce earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Connecticut in 2003, and completed her postdoctoral training in the Yale Department of Psychiatry before joining the faculty in 2005. She oversees residential and housing services for adults with serious mental illness through the Community Services Network of Greater New Haven, of which she is the Associate Director. Dr. Ponce has research and clinical interests in the role of community based services in recovery from homelessness and mental illness. Another major area of interest is the training and education of psychologists and other mental health professionals. Dr. Ponce supervises psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows and has directs a postdoctoral training program focused on homelessness and public sector mental health administration. She coordinates several seminars in the department focused on administration, leadership, and community-based care. Dr. Ponce is actively involved with the American Psychological Association (APA), and currently chairs the Committee on Early Career Psychologists and serves as an internship site visit chair for APA’s Committee on Accreditation. In addition, Dr. Ponce sits on the Board of Directors of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC).
