Departments & Organizations
Dr. Possick attended Yale University School of Medicine and continued at Yale to complete a residency in Internal Medicine in 2005 as well as a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in 2008. She is devoted to patient care, resident/fellow education, and process improvement, with a focus on outpatient pulmonary medicine at the Winchester Chest Clinic, where she is the Associate Director, and at the Thoracic Oncology Clinic in Smilow Cancer Hospital.
Within her diverse general pulmonary practice, she also has a clinical focus in COPD. She is particularly interested in improving COPD patient/caregiver education, cormorbidity management, and transitions of care for this population, and is spearheading an inpatient initiative to reduce COPD readmissions for patients admitted with COPD exacerbations. She is also collaborating on a clinical trial investigating endobronchial lung volume reduction in patients with advanced COPD.
As part of the Thoracic Oncology Clinic in Smilow Cancer Hospital, her focus is on pulmonary complications that arise in the course of treatment, as well as the non-oncologic pulmonary care of patients who have, or have survived, a variety of malignancies.
