Biographical Info

Dr. Geoffrey Connors is a member of the section of Pulmonary and Critical Care. Dr. Connors earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan before attending medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans. He was an intern and resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado where he also served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. While in residency he received a number of honors related to education and clinical care including the Arthur P. Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Connors then went on to a Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Dr. Connors is currently interested in the critical care of patients with severe, refractory hypoxia including advancing therapies such as high frequency oscillatory ventilation and extra corporeal membrane oxygenation for refractory hypoxemic lung disease. In addition Dr. Connors is working to standardize and improve quality of care in the ICU while serving as a co-director of several committees including groups dedicated to improving end of life care, multidisciplinary rounding and one working on increasing access to physical therapy for critically-ill adults.

He continues to serve as an educator, working in the Yale Medical School as an instructor with a focus on clinical reasoning and medical decision making. Earlier this year he started and co-directed (through the Yale Teaching and Learning Center) a successful class dedicated to improving other up and coming medical educators called "Teaching Teachers".
