Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiology)

Biographical Info

My expertise is in echocardiography specifically, Three-Dimensional Echocardiography and the use of 3D echo in structural heart disease. Three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE) is a natural evolution in the development of echocardiography. My interests in 3DE stems back to 1993 when 3D echocardiography involved multiple imaging planes to generate a 3D image. I have been involved in the development of testing new 3D technology. As new developments in probe technology brought a true “real-time” 3D fully-sampled matrix array transthoracic and transeophageal transducer it has become the main imaging modality in valvular disease and the assessment of left and right ventricular function.
