Biography
Dr. Steven Aronin earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA and then graduated with high honors from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program followed by a fellowship in Infectious Disease at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He has been an Infectious Disease consultant at Waterbury Hospital since 1997 where he currently serves as the Chief of Infectious Disease, the Medical Director of the Waterbury Hospital Infectious Disease and Travel Clinic, the Program Director for all Ryan White-funded HIV Programs, and the Hospital Epidemiologist. Dr. Aronin has been a Core Faculty member at Waterbury Hospital since 2009, and serves as the Scientific Director and Sub-specialty Coordinator for Infectious Disease for the Yale-Waterbury Internal Medicine Residency Program. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine and is currently the President of the Connecticut Infectious Disease Society. Dr. Aronin’s academic interests include meningitis, endocarditis, HIV infection and incorporating HIV screening into routine care. In his free time, he enjoys bike riding, basketball and baking.
