After being promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine in July 2012, Dr. Chaudhry was appointed to serve as Director of Yale’s Academic Hospitalist Program. In this role, Dr. Chaudhry’s interests encompass hospital quality improvement, as well as outcomes research. With funding from AHRQ (P30 HS023554-01), Dr. Chaudhry recently led the creation of the Yale Center for Healthcare Innovation and Redesign (CHIRAL). The mission of this Center is to serve clinicians and patients with the creation of a dynamic innovative environment where threats to patient safety are assessed and solutions are implemented. These methods are evaluated by a multi-disciplinary team composed of experts in human factors, engineering, communication, outcomes research, health care policy and administration.
