The Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping CenterThis NIDDK funded center is under the direction of Dr. Gerald Shulman, the Associate Director of the DERC. This Center serves to complement DERC resources by providing the resources to study, from a metabolic perspective, novel transgenic and knockout mice. It includes the following cores: Animal Care, In Vivo Metabolism, In Vitro Metabolism, Analytic, and MRS/MRI Cores. The goal is to offer a resource to perform metabolic phenotyping of diabetic and insulin resistant mice in collaboration with investigators around the world. The facility is housed in the TAC building one floor above the DERC offices.
