The Epidemic Intelligence Service, a little known arm of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is among the topics to be discussed by pioneer physician-journalist and medical columnist of the New York Times Lawrence K. Altman, M.D.
During his long career, Dr. Altman has won numerous awards including in 2000 the very first Victor Cohn Prize for Excellence in Medical Science Reporting from the Council for the Advancement of Medical Writing.
He is the author of Who Goes First? The Story of Self - Experimentation in Medicine.
