HAVEN Free Clinic is a student-run free clinic operating out of the Fair Haven Community Health Center each Saturday. Students from all of the health professional institutions are welcome to volunteer and/or sit on the Board of Student Directors.

The Wednesday Evening Clinic is a student-run free clinic operating out of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Primary Care Center since the 1970s. The purpose of the clinic is to give MD/PhD, other joint MD degree candidates and MD candidates pursuing a year of research with a chance to give longitudinal care to the New Haven community. First- and second-year MD students are invited to serve as translators and are an invaluable resource.

The Neighborhood Health Project provides free blood glucose and blood pressure screenings to the residents of New Haven and surrounding communities. It meets every Saturday morning at the Loaves and Fishes Food Closet on the corner of Olive and Chapel streets near Wooster Square.

Student Sight Savers offers free glaucoma screenings in the community. The program, funded by Friends of the Congressional Glaucoma Caucus Foundation, has offered screenings in Stamford, Ansonia, New Haven, Fair Haven and Hartford.

Columbus House is a shelter serving the hungry and homeless in New Haven. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, Yale medical, PA, and nursing students help a local physician's associate in providing medical treatment, consultation and screenings to shelter residents.

This clinic is maintained primarily by students attending the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and secondarily by students at Yale. The clinic travels to farms in Windsor, Middletown, Enfield, Suffield and elsewhere to provide health care to migrant workers. Established in 1998, it operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 p.m. until sundown, from mid-June to October.
