Nephrology and Cardiology
Yale medical students will participate in rounds on the dialysis unit with the medical team, attend outpatient clinics, as well as rounds on the in-patient service units. In addition, there may be opportunities to observe and compare clinical activities at other community based public hospitals.
Students are required to speak Spanish on an intermediate level in order to maximize their experience in Cordoba. There is an intensive language based component of the elective in which students needing improvement in their language skills can attend various language schools for a minimum of two hours per day. There is a strong focus on enhancing the student’s language skills so that fluency is achieved on both a conversational and medical basis.
University of Buenos Aires
The University of Buenos Aires is the largest and most highly regarded university in Argentina.
Clinical rotation sites are available depending on the student’s particular interests. Students can apply to various specialties through the University of Buenos Aires. Students are required to speak Spanish on an intermediate level or higher and must pass a language assessment through OIMSE prior to being placed in a rotation.
