Elective Clinical Clerkships

Clinical electives allow students who have completed their MSIII core clerkships to have a clinical experience in another health care system. The following clinical electives are available in Africa, Asia, and South America.

Clinical Electives in Africa

Electives in African include a clinical rotation focusing on tuberculosis at Tugela Ferry, South Africa, a collaboration between Yale and Makerere University at Mulago Hospital in Uganda, and a surgical clerkship with Dr. Michael O'Brien in rural Zambia.

Electives in Asia and the Pacific include a working with Dr. Kinari Webb at the Alam Sehat Lestari Clinic in Borneo, Indonesia, the Chung Fellowship in Changsha, China, and a clinical rotation at Mettapracharak Hospital in Thailand.

Clinical electives in South America include two programs of clinical rotations in Argentina, one in Corduba and the other at the University of Buenos Aires, as well as a rotation in the Hermilio Valdizan Psychiatric Hospital in Peru.
