SBIRT for Tobacco Dependence

An innovative new line of research at the Yale Department of Emergency Medicine focuses on the development of ED-initiated screening, brief intervention, and referral to treat patients who smoke. Efficacy studies of multicomponent cessation interventions involve motivational interviewing and medication to help adult smokers in the ED.
