Unexplained Chest Pain and Gender
Research in the Yale ED Chest Pain Center aims to better understand the etiology of chest pain and progression of heart disease in men and women; investigate the use of non invasive techniques such as flow mediated dilatation and PET scans to improve our understanding of unexplained chest pain and its link with microvascular dysfunction; and, to study the gender related predictors of future adverse coronary events, poor health status and repeat health service utilization in patients with unexplained chest pain.
