John Earl Sather MD
Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine
Dr. Sather maintains clinical appointments in both the Sections of Emergency Medicine and Surgical Critical Care at Yale. Dr. Sather’s area of clinical expertise is in the evaluation and management of critically ill or injured patients, and he has been instrumental in the development of guidelines for the management of sepsis within Yale-New Haven hospital and for the management of the mechanically ventilated patient within the Yale Emergency Department. His academic interests focus on the clinical challenges confronted at the intersection of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care.
Dr. Sather has a strong commitment to both medical student and resident education. As co-director of the medical student education for the Section of Emergency Medicine, he has been instrumental its curriculum development and execution. Dr. Sather is also the architect of the critical care curriculum for the Emergency Medicine residency program at Yale.
