Charlene M Whiteman
Senior Administrative Assistant
Departments & Organizations
Role at Yale
Charlene joined the Yale Arbovirus Research Unit 40 years ago, in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health. YARU was first funded by the Rockefeller Foundation in New York and later by NIH and International research grants. In 1980, after a brief maternity leave, she joined the MacArthur Center for Molecular Parasitology in the Department of Internal Medicine. The research unit was very shortly moved into the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Public Health, so there she was again, back in LEPH for the next 20 years. When one of her favorite faculty members in EPH took a position at George Washington University, she came to work for Sandy Bogucki and David Cone in Emergency Medical Services where she has been for the last eleven years.
