About Us

The Department of Emergency Medicine of the Yale University School of Medicine/Yale-New Haven Medical Center is a premier department emphasizing and investing in its three core missions:

1. To create new knowledge and promote scholarship in the field of Emergency Medicine as it relates to the science of disease, clinical practice, education and health policy
2. To educate future leaders and scholars who will advance the practice of Emergency Medicine
3. To provide quality patient care

There are a total 40 faculty members: 30 academic, 3 clinical, 6 instructors, 1 senior research scientist and 1 visiting professor. We offer three fellowships, Ultrasound (2), EMS (1) and Global Health (1). We currently have 48 residents.
