Role at Yale
Mae Geter arrived in the USA from Scotland in 1978. She had actually been in the USA when she was 11 years old and lived on a farm in Darien for a year but most of the family moved back to Scotland as did she after a year. Quote from older sister "The States are a wee bit to fast for us" end Quote.
Mae Geter began working at Yale University School of Medicine in July, 2007 in the Office of Student Research where she continues to work today. Prior to working at Yale, Mae was the Customer Service Manager of Coverit/North American Outdoor Products for 8 years. Prior to working there Mae was a Senior Technician in Quality Control with United States Surgical Corporation for approximately seven years. Mae enjoys the daily interaction with colleagues, faculty and students.
Mae is the mother of two daughters and grandmother (Mima) of six wonderful grandkids whom she adores and enjoys spending as much time as she can with them. Mae loves to hear how people imitate her Scottish accent and a few colleagues have it down pat! (see Sue Sansone for this one) Mae and her sister share a home with her youngest daughter (any suggestions on how to get a 32 years old to move out?)one Pomeranian (and a Jack Russell on loan), two cats and a cockatoo.
