Role at Yale
Lorraine has completed 25 years at Yale this year. Upon finishing college she started in ENT and then Pathology. Returning to Yale many years' later, she was the administrator in the Department of Transplantation. Later she became the Director of the Yale Physicians' Building. While at YPB, she created Yale Art Place and the Quilters @yale.edu winning an award for its creation in 2000. Quilts from the group can be seen throughout the medical school campus. Joining Facilities she was responsible for many of the YSM buildings and 26 leased properties. Currently, she is working in the Office of Student Affairs as the Yale VSAS Coordinator. This opportunity consists of receiving all US visiting student's applications and processing them to the Departments and working with the students for Orientation, etc. It is a "wonderful experience" she stated.
Lorraine lives in Orange with her best friend and husband Joel, son Jason, grandson Jaxon (the love of her life) and their dog Max. Her daughter, Jamie, lives in Brooklyn and works in Manhattan. She also has an "adopted" son, Dan, who is in real estate and owns his own business in Boston. Dan was a foreign exchange student from Hamden Hall who is from Israel and never left after graduating high school and college. He still considers us his "family" and comes home about once a month. She likes reading, quilting (making baby and adult blankets for many organizations, volunteering at YNHH newborn care unit as a "baby cuddler". She enjoys gardening and relaxing in her yard during the summer with her family having many cookouts.
