The Office of Student Affairs is here to support you during your time at the Yale School of Medicine and to provide whatever personal, professional or academic guidance you need.
Services
The Office of Student Affairs is the place medical students go to:
- Register for medical school
- Schedule clinical clerkships and electives
- Consider career options
- Review evaluations
- Plan international trips
- Set up official student organizations and get money for those organizations
- Discuss personal issues that may conflict with medical education
- Seek advice regarding academic, personal and career decisions
Other services provided by the Office of Student Affairs include:
- Keeping and maintaining students’ transcripts and permanent academic records
- Providing letters verifying that a student is in good standing (a requirement for scholarships and fellowships)
- Writing letters of recommendation for joint-degree programs, research fellowships and residency programs
- Arranging accommodations for students with physical or learning disabilities
