What really makes Yale tick is not so much the name and the legacies, but the people who walk these streets and inhabit these buildings. In Sunday school we use to fold our hands a certain way and say - "There is the church, there is the steeple, open the door, and there are all the people!" And so it is at Yale. Sure, the buildings here are hard to miss; they've been here a long time. But the best part about Yale is what you find when you really peer inside and take a look at the people that hold this place together. That's where the real strength lies.

-Sherri Sandifer, YSM '99
