CT Policy Regarding Contrast Induced Nephropathy

If the departmental outpatient questionnaire raises the possibility of occult renal impairment, i.e. positive answers to renal problems, diabetes, drugs, myeloma or connective tissue diseases, then a POC Creatinine test will be performed at the time of the contrast enhanced CT study.

In-patients and ER patients continue to require an appropriate lab Creatinine value (1.5) before having iodinated contrast.
