Yale Computed Tomography (CT) section is composed of dedicated faculty who provide the highest quality medical patient care and services in a variety of locations - YNHH ER, Long Wharf and YNHH Shoreline Medical Centers. Using the latest technology, this service is one of the most involved specialties in the Department of Yale Diagnostic Radiology concentrating on every aspect of CT body scanning including chest, abdomen and pelvis exams in adults.
Virtual imaging studies e.g. CT colonography and CT angiography (CTA) of abdominal and peripheral (extremities) vessels are routinely performed. 3D imaging for diagnosis and pre-surgical planning is also a priority.
Volume/Exam Statistics:
FY 2003 Neuro CT = 20,460
Body CT = 31,356
Total = 51,816
Computed Tomography at Yale is also a fundamental division of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Diagnostic Radiology Residency and Fellowship programs. An integral component for all residents and cross-sectional fellows is to rotate through the CT service. It is a link for medical students, internal medicine and family practice residents as well as residents from other radiology programs to rotate on electives though our section. We provide a weekly gateway of conferences, which provide formal didactic instruction for radiology residents and fellows.
Conference schedule
Fellow Conference – Tuesdays 12noon
