"Dr. Robert Messina Was Selected by the GMEC for the June 2015 Great Catch Story"

Award: Dr. Robert Messina was selected by the GMEC for the June 2015 Great Catch Story! This award (which included a gift certificate for a free coffee!) is in recognition of an outstanding call he made on a head CT. He prospectively described the precise distribution of an infarct, later proved to be acute on MRI. These images (on the left) are currently being used for our residents as a teaching case as they learn about reading head CTs in the emergency setting. Thanks to his sharp eye, this acute infarct, difficult to see even in retrospect, was truly a great catch! Congrats Rob!
