Mary Geda is the Project Director for the Center grant (CCOR) and Research Nurse for the VIRGO study. She has over 15 years of experience conducting research in academic settings including Yale University, the University of Colorado, and the University of Pennsylvania. She has expertise in cardiovascular disease, clinical research, project management, regulatory requirements, and training. Previous positions include:
- IRB Expedited/Exempt Manager where she reviewed research and managed a staff responsible for processing 3,000 review exempt/expedited determinations annually
- Research Subject Advocate where she monitored the safety of participants enrolled in 150 different studies in the General Clinical Research Center
- Research Project Manager where she enrolled participants in one of the 8-10 clinical trials she coordinated in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- Staff Nurse where she provided postoperative nursing care to patients after cardiothoracic surgery
