Biographical Info

Aakriti joined as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) at Yale University in 2011. She received her medical degree from Government Medical College, Chandigarh in India in 2011. With an interest in cardiovascular outcomes research, she has contributed to several projects during her time at CORE. She utilized the VIRGO study to investigate sex differences in patterns of dosing of anticoagulant agents among young patients with myocardial infarction. She also led and published a study examining the trends in utilization and outcomes of intracranial stenting among Medicare beneficiaries. As Section Editor for the Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes journal, she also reviewed important contributions in the field of cardiovascular outcomes research. In addition, she actively contributed to the development of an AMI registry in China as a member of the Yale team for the China PEACE study. As a result of her work, she had numerous publications and presentations in international conferences. She will now go on to pursue residency in Internal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine in June, 2013.
