Residency in Laboratory Animal Medicine

The Section of Comparative Medicine offers a two year, American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM)-recognized residency in laboratory animal medicine. This program is designed to meet the training requirements for certification by ACLAM and provides training in the following disciplines:
- Clinical medicine and surgery
- Anatomic and clinical pathology
- Virology, serology, and molecular diagnostics
- Biotechnology
- Vivarium management
- Regulatory compliance
Graduate Courses
Comparative Medicine faculty teach a number of graduate courses at the School of Medicine, including:
- Stem and Progenitor Cells in the Adult Nervous System (NSCI 585a)
- Principles of Human Genetics (GENE 500)
- Mouse in Biomedical Research (GENE 703)
