Services and Resources for Creating Genetically Engineered Mice

YGEC creates genetically engineered mice via CRISPR/Cas genome editing, gene targeting via homologous recombination in ES cells, and traditional transgenic mouse technology. YGEC also cryopreserves sperm or embryos of inherently valuable genetically altered mouse strains. Assisted reproduction technologies include strain reanimation or rescue via in vitro fertilization and/or embryo transfer.

Pronuclear microinjection of transgene constructs to create transgenic mouse lines.
Creation of genetically altered ES cell lines by homologous recombination. Karyotyping. Generation of chimeric mice by injection of ES cells into blastocysts; transmission of the targeted gene through the germline.
Cryopreservation and storage of genetically altered mouse strains. Reanimation of cryopreserved strains via in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Freezing and storage of mouse embryos.
