Talk Description:
Irritability, anger and aggression are common child behavioral problems which are among the most frequent reasons for referring children to mental health services. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) aims to reduce these problems by ameliorating associated deficits in social cognition and emotion regulation. The talk will begin with a discussion of clinical characteristics of irritability followed by a session-by-session review of the intervention and concluded with a presentation of research evidence in support of CBT in children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
