The NEAT Center at Oak Hill
NEAT is about access — access to information, to products and equipment, to the manufacturers and vendors of equipment and to services. The New England Assistive Technology (NEAT) Center at Oak Hill was formed because limited access to services, equipment and devices that can minimize the effects of disabilities is, in itself, a disability. NEAT was established to provide information and services and access to equipment and devices that can change the lives of people of all ages, with all types of disabilities, both temporary and permanent. We operate under the auspices of Oak Hill, a 115 year old non-profit organization located in Hartford, CT. The headquarters building of the NEAT Center provides 25,000 square feet of space for product demonstrations, expos, classes, computer use, research and equipment restoration. Our staff is available to help you find what you need.

The program offers a variety of clinical services including: Inpatient, Day patient, Residential, Home-based, Outpatient care and Research. We believe that continuity of care is critical to effective treatment and that it is among the key factors responsible for producing favorable treatment outcomes.

The Groden Center
Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for persons with autism and other emotional and behavioral disabilities. The Groden Center, Inc. has been providing day and residential treatment and educational services to children and youth who have developmental and behavioral difficulties and their families since 1976. By providing a broad range of individualized services in the most normal and least restrictive settings possible, children and youth learn skills that will help them engage in typical experiences and interact more successfully with others. Education and treatment take place in the Groden Center classrooms, in the students' homes, and in the community with every effort to maintain typical family and peer relationships. The Center uses the most well-developed and effective modes of behavioral treatment that emphasize innovative and theraputic procedures. The behavioral technology is merged with our understanding of the ecology of the students' everyday life in which we emphasize the acquisition of age-appropriate skills. We use our knowledge of developmental principles to organize learning through a series of stages, keeping goals and teaching strategies flexible to meet the unique and challenging needs of each student and family. Strengths, rather than deficits, are targeted as building blocks for learning. The Groden Center's webpage has extensive links to local and national resources related to autism and other mental health issues.

QuestKids
QuestKids specializes in helping children with autism, pervasive development disorder, and other learning and behavior concerns with individualized one-on-one programs using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Working hand-in-hand with speech pathologists, occupational therapists and educational professionals, QuestKids develops and implements an appropriate path of learning that meets each child's specific needs.Parent and teacher training also ensures that the child experiences a consistent, positive learning environment at home, in school and during community activities. At QuestKids, children learn how to learn and are given tools to communicate. Children receive intensive instruction in language, self-care, social skills, academics and decision making. Through early intervention, children are able to reach their personal goals, require fewer support services later in childhood and be more independent throughout their lives.
