Nancy A Moran

Biographical Info
Nancy Moran was born in Dallas Texas and became interested in science, and specifically in evolutionary biology, as an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin, where she obtained a BA in 1976. She went to University of Michigan and was advised by WIlliam D. Hamilton for her doctoral work, completed in 1982. Since about 1990, she has worked on bacterial symbionts in insects and on bacterial genomics and evolution generally. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and received the International Prize for Biology in 2010, for her work on symbiosis.
