Financial Support

We often get inquiries about how to fund international experiences. While some programs offer stipends to offset your costs, not all do. We, therefore, have found some travel scholarships and grants to help fund your experience.

Hitoshi Nikaidoh, M.D. Memorial Award

This award was created by friends and colleagues of Dr. Hitoshi Nikaidoh to honor and celebrate his life. This fund was created to allow medical students, residents, and physicians within their first five years of practice, to participate in medical mission work—both domestically and abroad.

Johnson Short Term Mission Scholarship

The aim of this scholarship is to encourage MD/DO residents and fellows to “serve the under served, cross-culturally”.

Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology/Kybele Internatioal Outreach Grant

This grant was started to provide funding for Anesthesia residents/fellows with a strong commitment to international outreach and the goals of S.O.A.P. The grant is designed to encourage research in obstetric anesthesia with the goal of advancing its practice.

Tami Fisk Mission Travel Grant Fund

This fund is designed to help offset the travel expenses for medical professionals who are interested in performing medical outreach specifically in East Asia.
