NEEDS

Ensuring a high level of quality in echocardiography is a primary goal of the American Society of Echocardiography. Several specific criteria were established for the process including maintinaing competence and Board certificaton/recertification of the physicians.  Proof of maintaining the competence is acquiring 50 TEE specific CMEs over a period of 4 years.

To comply with guidelines of American Society of Echocardiography (AE) and improve patient car and surgical outcomes, monthly echocardiography conference were started  Special attention is paid to quality of image acquisition and interpretation of most complex cases.  However, each year technology is advancing and complexity of the surgical cases increasing.  It became necessary to expand into a multidisciplinary meeting.  Presence of intervention cardiology, pediatric and adult cardiology, cardiac surgery and anesthesiology provides a necessary cross-modality comparison and helps to maintain required high competence of participating physicians.
