Perioperative & Adult
The Section of Perioperative and Adult Anesthesia is responsible for the medical care of patients with general surgical problems, as well as patients undergoing certain subspecialty surgical procedures:
- Thoracic and Peripheral Vascular Surgery
- Neurosurgery, Urology
The active major vascular, thoracic, neurovascular, radical cancer surgery and transplant services give residents the chance to develop the ability to perform detailed preoperative evaluations, manage complex patients with perioperative multi-organ system failure, and deal with a hemodynamically unstable intraoperative environment.
The Preadmission Center is an important part of the Section of Perioperative and Adult Anesthesia. It is where many of our elective surgical patients are evaluated and prepared for surgery.
