Patient Care

The primary venue for the department's clinical activities is Yale-New Haven Hospital. We administer care in more than 45 clinical locations, including inpatient and ambulatory operating rooms, the maternity ward, the Surgical Intensive Care and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care units, YNHH’s preadmission testing center and the perioperative pain service.

We administer more than 30,000 anesthetics a year and care for pediatric patients at the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital and older patients at the West Haven Veterans Administration Hospital. The latest additions to our clinical practice are the Temple Surgical Center, in New Haven, and the Yale-New Haven Shoreline Medical Center, in Guilford.
