Reunion Giving

Reunion Giving

Your reunion is a time to reflect on the many unparalleled experiences your Yale School of Medicine education has afforded you. It also serves as inspiration to extend that great tradition to current and future students at YSM.

Traditionally, reunion classes present a special gift to the School in honor of their reunion. Many alumni stretch their normal giving, give for the first time, or make a pledge to give for the next four years in order to enable their class to present a gift that will make a substantial impact on Yale School of Medicine and its students.

In addition, alumni in reunion years can sponsor the cost of a stethoscope for an incoming student. Students know the donor’s name and class year (or the donor may remain anonymous) and the stethoscopes are handed out at the annual White Coat Ceremony. This sponsorship program was inaugurated during YSM’s bicentennial year and has been very successful with alumni and grateful incoming students alike. At this time, gifts cannot be accepted online for the stethoscope program. To find out more or to make your own gift, please contact Marie DiZazzo Wilson at (203) 436-8556 or marie.dizazzo@yale.edu.

The combined reunion gift total recognizes all gifts made since the last reunion, including Alumni Fund contributions, capital gifts for special purposes, and gifts from widows and widowers of classmates. Commitments must be made by June 30th of the reunion year in order to be recognized in the reunion gift total, although pledges can be paid over a multi-year period.
